Alan’s Make a Wish

A couple of weeks ago, we had a special request to fulfil someone’s wish to ride in a truck.

Alan, who is a resident at Boars Tye Residential Home Ltd, was previously a truck driver for many years and wanted to ride in a truck again. Due to Alan’s condition, we have taken extra steps to make this possible. Getting Alan in and out of the truck safely was a big priority – so we planned around his mobility. We securely positioned steps up towards the truck, where Alan could safely manoeuvre in/out of the truck.

Our Driver, Ross, took Alan on a scenic route from our yard at Earls Colne around the area; giving Alan the full truck experience he wished for. The biggest highlight for us was seeing how much Alan enjoyed the experience. “Alan didn’t stop talking about it all the way home” “Alan was absolutely over the moon”. Its moments like these we’re proud to be a part of and organise.
